Woodley Sports Vs Blue Star

In the FA Trophy preliminary round Blue Star travelled to Woodley Sports for the first of at least three clashes this season. The game was far from exciting and didn't produce many scoring opportunities from either team. The best performance came from Blue Star defender Chris Carr who played solidly at the back.

It wasn't until the eighty fifth minute that the Star managed to open up a resolute home defence when Dean Douglas looked to have clinched the game when he fired into the back of the net from fifteen yards out.

But, once again Blue Star agonisingly conceeded a stopage time goal when Woodley Sports Ryan Hanlon beat Star keeper Ryan Smith with a cross from the left. Blue Star however, had done enough to earn a replay at Kingston Park on Wednesday.
