Mossley Vs Blue Star
Blue Star started the game very well and spent the first five minutes almost exclusively in the Mossley half of the pitch and forced two excellent saves from Mossley keeper Ashley Connor and a goal line clearence from Gareth Hamlet but, alas we couldn't score.
Instaed Mossley took the lead in the sixth minute after a costly mistake from keper Dan Lowson, allowing Paul Quinn to easily lob the ball into the empty net. This gave Mossley a confidence boost and they continued to press forward, nearly capitalising on their lead.
Immediately following the interval the Star came very close to equalising after a defensive error but Connor used some nifty footwork to keep Mossley in the lead.
However, Blue Star's luck seemed to have completely run out when mid-way through the seccond half Mossley were awarded a controversial penalty, but luckily Lee Connor couldn't hit the target.
Then in the 70th minute Chris Emms flighted the ball over the Mossley defensive wall and put his free kick right into the top left corner to equalise. But the celebrations didn't last for long as three minutes later Mossley were back in front as another result of a goal keeping error by Dan Lowson which left him vunerable to be lobbed again.
Blue Star nearly pulled back another equaliser straight from the re-start but keeper Ashley Connor pulled out another good save. All the action was then down at the other end where by Star defender Andrews making an incredible goal-line clearence to keep the score 2-1. Not a great performance by the lads.
