Newcastle Blue Star Vs Curzon Ashton – Match Report

Blue Star versus Curzon Ashton resulted in another draw for Star who still remain unbeaten at the start of their time in the UniBond League.

Blue Star equipped themselves very well and installed belief in everyone that they do in-fact belong in this league and can possibly make Director of Football Bob Morton’s ambition of reaching the UniBond Premier League within three years a reality.

Blue Star managed to overcome the set-back of losing defender Chris Carr to a red card inside the first half and during the whole 90 minutes Star out-played league leaders Curzon Ashton. Blue Star created many goal scoring opportunities, with Lee Novak proving to be a menace in the box but, lady luck was not on their side as they couldn’t manage to hit the back of the net.

Manager Andy Gowens told the Sunday Sun “We had six clear-cut chances and we’ve got to take them, we’re just not getting the rub of the green but at least we are creating them. We’ve been by far the best side in our three games so far, there’s lots to work on but we’ll get there.”
