Bamber Bridge Vs Blue Star Match Report
In Blue Star's opener of the season Novak took advantage of a defensive error by home team Bamber Bridge to claim the first point of their 2007 / 2008 campaign.
The UniBonds new boys started confidently, and twice came close to getting some points on the scoreboard, before conceeding after 13 minutes by a Sean O'Neil volley. Throughout the game both sides showed lots of competitive endeavour, skill, and passion for what proved to be a very entertaining 90 minutes of football.
Although Blue Star settled well after the goal and played some enterprising football they couldn't seem to break down the Bamber Bridge defence.
That is until the 88th minute mark when Bamber goalkeeper Terry McCormick attempted to clear his line, but his centre-half Steve Williams got in the way and Blue Stars Lee Novak was quick to pick up the loose ball & fire into the empty net for a one all draw.
