Wakefield FC Vs Newcastle Blue Star

Saturday was a cold, windy winter day - making conditions very difficult to play in. But, Newcastle didn't start well letting in 2 goals within the opening 20 minutes.

Dean Foster struck the first attempt after 10 minutes and Liam Cohen added a second, which left Blue Star with a mountain to climb.

Chances for both sides were few and far between for the rest of the game, although Stars Scott Bell and Neal Hooks missed good goal scoring opportunities. Then, to rub salt into the wounds Newcastle's strongest defender and captain Chris Carr was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Unfortunately Newcastle slip down to 6th place, just outside of a play-off position.
