Blue Star V Ossett Albion

Blue Star started well and managed to get on the score board after just seven minutes when former Gretna striker Lee Novak racked up his 19th goal of the season. This followed a good cross from team mate and fellow striker Chris Emms, leaving Novak perfectly positioned to side-foot the ball into the net. 1-0.

The visitors, Ossett Albion, quickly hit back and on the half hour Kelsey beat two Blue Star defenders and fired the ball across goalkeeper Craig Summersgill and into the net. 1-1.

Blue Star came out of the tunnel after half time very brightly and forced Ossett goalkeeper Neil Bennett to make three good saves in the first 10 minutes of the second half. But, it just wasn’t Blue Star’s day as out of nowhere Ossett scored their second to take the lead through Kelsey, his second of the game. This time though Blue Star keeper Summersgill had no chance of saving as the ball fired into the top corner. 1-2.

Blue Star kept on battling and were rewarded with a well deserved equaliser late on in the game, when a stunning free-kick by Dean Gordon flashed into the net past Bennett.
2-2. A good Blue Star performance but they can’t keep missing their scoring chances.
