Garforth V Blue Star

Newcastle Blue Star keeper Dan Lowson had a game to forget as Garforth smashed home four.

The first half of the match ended 0-0 with neither team exciting the crowd. But on 52 minutes the game burst into action when Garforth took the lead. The chance came when Lowson allowed a routine pass-back to run through his legs to leave Luis De Melo with the easy chance of intercepting and shooting home.

Unfortunately Garforth doubled their lead on 69 minutes when Newcastle defender Gordon was unlucky and slipped in the penalty area allowing Greg Kelly to riffle home from close range.

Kelly then grabbed his second on 81 minutes with a curling free-kick. And Lowson gifted the home side a fourth minutes later clearing straight onto the back of De Melo to seal all three points.

The score line doesn’t reflect the game accurately but some silly mistakes cost Blue Star dearly.
