Chorley Vs Newcastle Blue Star
An hour of slick football and two goals in a three minute spell enabled Blue Star to readily out-point their hosts. A double Chorley substitution later on in the game took Blue Star slightly out of their comfort zone but, not for long - Blue Star scord a late third goal.
A penalty for handball allowed Lee Novak to give Blue Star a lead in the 33rd minute. Then two minutes later a ball over the top confounded the home defence and new signing Dean Nicholson calmly chipped keeper Peter Collinge.
As Chorley hit back in the last half hour Dan Lowson made a collection of great saves. However, Chorleys pressure inevitably was rewarded on 78 minutes when substitute Danny Nolan side-footed home following a free kick.
But Blue Star were always dangerous on the break and the influential Chris Emms cooly sealed victory with a well placed shot.
3-1 to Blue Star, and their sights firmly set on a play off position...
