Newcastle Blue Star suffered their first defeat of the season in the UniBond League First Division North when they conceeded a last-minute winner at Bridlington Town.

However, the game started well for the North-East boys who played some fine football and were two nil up at half time. Dean Douglas was first to strike with an impressive individual effort, before striker Lee Novak produced another outstanding finish.

Neil Toward gave Bridlington their two goals as Blue Star were on course for their fourth consecutive draw. However devastatingly Daniel Lackie struck a dramatic late winner.
