Blue Star V Bradford Park Avenue
A very wet Thursday night saw top of the league Bradford P.A being held to a 0-0 draw at Kingston Park. Unfortunately the game also saw the end of Blue Stars winning streak, which stopped at six consecutive wins in a row (still an impressive feat at this level of football).
The score line however, does not reflect the excitement and creativity on show from both sides despite the hard conditions. There was some doubt prior to kick off about the game going ahead due to water lying on the surface of the pitch but the decision was made to play, and play is what they did with both teams still managing to look confident and play some quite delightful football at times.
There were many close/missed opportunities through out the game at both ends of the pitch, the closest going to Blue Star who managed to nail the cross bar but it just wasn’t meant to be.
After the game the vibe was still positive in the Blue Star camp, through out the match record holder David McTiernan looked dangerous going forward, Mark Sheeran commanded up-front and Dan Lowson was solid at the back pulling off a number of fine saves, although there was some disappointment at not managing to clinch the win. |
