Bradford Park Avenue V Blue Star

Newcastle Blue Star produced another good display – but still suffered a 2-0 defeat against UniBond League Division One North promotion hopefuls Bradford Park Avenue on Monday night. Thus Bradford retain their third place position, now only 2 points off the top spot.

Stand-in manager Paul Baker was without four regular players but, his under-strength side played extremely well and were very unlucky to suffer an early set back when Bradford’s Tristan Whitman fired past goalkeeper Dan Lowson in the 10th minute.

Blue Star battled back and had chances to equalise, unfortunately though they just couldn’t score. Then Paul Gedman poked the ball into the net to pack a further punch just before the interval.

Despite keeping up the fight all through the second half up until the final whistle Blue Star were unable to reduce the deficit.
